6 Ways to Enjoy the Outdoors

June 17, 2019

There are many ways to soak up the sun during the summer. Here are just a few ways to enjoy the summer sun while it lasts!

Playing Badminton (or Volleyball)

Badminton is a great game to play when the weather is nice. Many stores, including Walmart, sell badminton sets for under $30. It’s a one-time purchase, and it can provide hours of fun. Parks also often have nets already set up you can use to play.

Playing Tag

Many of us haven’t played tag since we were children, but the truth is, it’s still fun. There are many different ways to play the classic game, some of which you probably haven’t even tried yet. Some variations on the game include freeze tag and cartoon tag (directions for each are available online). Another fun variation includes tagging players with water balloons!

Having a Park Day

The Ozarks is a truly beautiful place to live, and if you haven’t recently, we highly suggest you take advantage of one of the area’s great parks. They allow for cheap entertainment, they’re great for kids, and they are a great way to be active in this day of digital entertainment.

Enjoying Water Fun

The rain this year has been seemingly never-ending, but there are still locations that allow for kayak and canoe rentals. Packing a lunch and a cooler and spending the day on the water can be a great way to enjoy summer. Other options for water fun include fishing, water balloon fights, tubing, skiing, and, of course, swimming.

Going Bike Riding

Going for a bike ride is a great option for enjoying the nice weather, and it’s great exercise too!

Having a Barbecue

A barbecue can be a great excuse to get the whole family together. Holiday weekends are like built-in excuses to grill and spend time with family, but any weekend in the summer is the right weekend for a barbecue.
