2. Have Carpets Cleaned:

This is something not many people think about, but it’s a great idea. We all have those random stains on our carpets nobody is sure where they came from. Sometimes a simple cleaning is enough to take your carpet from drab to fab.

 

3. Remove Family Photos:

Removing family photographs from the wall while you are showing your house is a good idea for two different reasons. First, it keeps your family safe and protected. Second, it allows the buyers to see themselves in the living space. It helps them imagine what they might want to do with the walls.

 

4. Keep Decorations Minimal:

This ties into the fantasy. People who are looking to buy a house are looking for somewhere their family can live for many years to come. Everyone has different tastes in decorations, and keeping things on the minimal side help the viewers imagine what they could do with the space.

 

5. Power Wash Siding:

Curb appeal is preached over and over again in real estate. Buyer’s first impression of your house is critical. A clean house on the outside is much more appealing to potential buyers than a dirty one.

 

6. Mow the Lawn:

This is a simple way to boost your curb appeal. When a buyer sees a lawn that is not mowed, they see work they are going to have to do once the house becomes theirs. On the other hand, if they see a perfectly cut lawn, they’re seeing what your house has to offer.

 

7. Clean Closets:

This is another thing some people might not think about. Closets are meant for being unclean. They’re where everything unwanted in the house inevitably winds up when it really should go in the trash. With that said, people viewing your house will take a look inside of the closets because closet space is a major selling point.
