Why Should You Use An Agent?

April 17, 2018

#1) They save you money and time

Many people feel overwhelmed while buying or selling their homes. Agents are there for you through the entire process. Agents know costly repairs when they see them. They can alert you to issues with a home you might not notice otherwise. They also help make sure everything is above the board and legal.  Agents understand the complexities of buying and selling a home. They know how much a home is worth, how much a home could be worth, how much is too much to pay, and they know a steal when they see one.

#2) They’ve been doing this a long time

Real estate has its own language. Understanding the contracts and paperwork that goes along with buying or selling a home can give the average person a headache. Agents do this for a living. They understand the language because they use it daily.

#3) Agents have trusted contacts

Most real estate agents have been working in their field for a long time. They have connections to people in the industry that can help them help you. When you hire an agent, you’re also hiring the team of people the agent relies on during the entire process.

#4) They find you more options

Buying a new home can be frustrating as well as exciting. You might think you’ve already seen all the listing in your area. Real estate agents have access to listings that might not be heavily advertised. They also keep track of listings, and know which houses on the market have features you’re looking for.

#5) They have knowledge

Real estate agents understand the market. It’s their job to understand what is happening daily. They understand contracts and terminology. In addition, they understand the laws. Buying or selling without an agent is a risk because the laws are complex. Buying without an agent is taking the risk of paying above what is a fair price for your home. Legal jargon, which would take the average person a long while to wade through, is jargon agents see every day.

#6) They work for you

They want to get you what you want. They understand what a major step buying a new house is. They want to find the right home for you and your family. The great thing about agents is they understand what you need and want, and they aren’t afraid to ask for it. They will negotiate the best prices for you, and they will request repairs for you. While these things might make you uncomfortable, real estate agents are used to it because it is a part of their job.
